Our annual pinewood derby race is scheduled for Sunday March 1st. Weigh in / registration starts at 1pm and closes at 1:45pm. Race starts at 2pm.
We have both a “scout” class and a “guest” class. This is to ensure that the scouts work on and build their own cars safely and to the best of their ability. If parents, guardians, siblings, etc. want to enter a car; the more the merrier! Those cars will compete in their own class.
If you don’t have tools, Mr. Walt will be holding a build workshop at his garage on February 8th and 9th. Details to come later. But it’s a “open house” style workshop where you can come, learn how to use woodworking tools safely, work on your car, and maybe learn some tricks to go fast. You can download the Pack 205 Pinewood Derby Rules here.
For anyone that was unable to attend Pack Night in December, be sure to attend the January events to claim your car. Non-scout participants can purchase the car kits from us or from the Scout Shop in Wilmington.
BEAR DEN – start reading Baloo the Builder requirement to learn more about wood working!
If you have any questions, be sure to ask one of the leaders. Trophies awarded for fastest cars – and certificates for categories like “most car like” and “most patriotic”.
See you at the races!
